Test Unit for Rashida

Issues

Issues are as follows. Note that I have:

  • Reinstalled the LearnDash LMS plugin
  • Changed the theme to TwentySeventeen
  • Deactivated all plugins

But the issues still remain.

1. Actions dropdown on individual quiz doesn’t work

Overview: Whilst the Actions dropdown functionality works on other parts of the LearnDash LMS, it doesn’t work on an individual quiz.

Expected behaviour: There is a list of actions displayed when Actions is clicked

What actually happens: Nothing

Steps to Recreate

  1. Go to LearnDash LMS in the left-hand WordPress menu
  2. Select Self-Assessments (Quiz)
  3. Click on the Actions dropdown menu (top right)
  4. A list of actions will be shown
  5. Now, staying on that same page, choose any of the Self-Assessments, and click Edit
  6. Click on the Actions dropdown menu (top right)
  7. Nothing happens

2. Question section can’t be returned to right-hand pane

Overview: I inadvertantly moved the Question section from the right-hand pane and now I can’t get it to go back, so it currently resides at the bottom of the Quiz Builder page. Note, I am using WordPress Gutenberg.

Expected behaviour: It should be possible to drag the Question section back to the right-hand pane

What actually happens: Dragging the question section just produces an endless horizontal scroll bar and it never reaches the right-hand pane

Steps to Recreate

  1. Go to LearnDash LMS in the left-hand WordPress menu
  2. Select Self-Assessments (Quiz)
  3. Choose any of the Self-Assessments, and click Edit
  4. Click on the Builder link at the top of the page
  5. The Questions panel is currently residing at the bottom of the main screen
  6. If you try and drag it back to the right-hand pane, you just get a long horizontal scroll bar for the main panel
  7. How do I get this to return to the right hand pane?

3. Custom Results Display does not turn off

Overview: Toggling off the Custom Results Display does not turn off results display for the student. Instead, the individual sub-menu items must also be turned off to ensure that no results are shown to the student on quiz completion.

Expected behaviour: Toggling off the Custom Results Display should ensure that the sub-menu items are also turned off.

What actually happens: Toggling off the Custom Results Display does not turn off the sub-menu items, so unless these sub-menu items are turned off individually, quiz results are still shown to the student.

Steps to Recreate

  1. Go to LearnDash LMS in the left-hand WordPress menu
  2. Select Self-Assessments (Quiz)
  3. Find Test Assessment for Rashida and click Edit
  4. Click the Settings link at the top of the page
  5. Scroll down to Customs Results Display
  6. You will see that this is turned on
  7. Close the window (for editing this quiz)
  8. Go back to the Self-Assessments page
  9. Find Test Assessment for Rashida and click View
  10. Take the quiz
  11. When you have completed the quiz, you will be shown your results (this is expected behaviour).
  12. Now, repeat Steps 1-5 again
  13. Turn off the Custom Results Display toggle, but leave all the other selected sub-menu items turned on
  14. The sub-menu items are hidden until the Custom Results Display is toggled on again (all fine so far)
  15. Click Update
  16. Take the quiz again (Steps 9-10)
  17. When you have completed your quiz, you will be shown your results (unexpected behaviour, as we’ve just turned the Customs Results Display toggle off – the only way to get around this, is to turn all the sub-menu items off, which defeats the object of having a Custom Results Display toggle)

4. Question selection doesn’t work as expected (ISSUE RESOLVED)

UPDATE: Thank you Rashida for letting me know that Shared questions has to be turned on to be able to select from the Question Bank. However, that’s really not very clear from an expected behaviour point of view. Why have a link to View All, a Search box, and a dummy Question category, if you can’t actually do anything with them unless you turn on Shared Questions?

Overview: It’s impossible to select questions from the Question bank via the Quiz Builder.

Expected behaviour: Using the Questions panel (see Issue 2 above) should show questions from the question bank, either individually, by category, or via the search box.

What actually happens: Nothing. The only category is “Question”. The Search box doesn’t show any results and the View All link doesn’t show anything.

Steps to Recreate

  1. Go to LearnDash LMS in the left-hand WordPress menu
  2. Select Self-Assessments (Quiz)
  3. Choose any of the Self-Assessments, and click Edit
  4. Click on the Builder link at the top of the page
  5. Scroll down to the Questions panel (currently residing at the bottom of the main screen)
  6. Select View All
  7. Nothing happens – there is no list of questions to choose from (Expected behaviour: a list of all questions appears)
  8. Look at the Categories box just underneath the Search box. The only Category is “Question”, even though many of the questions have categories assigned to them (Expected behavour: a list of question or self-assessment categories is shown)
  9. Type “what” or “how” in the Search box – nothing happens (Expected behaviour: a list of questions with the search term is shown)
